Maintaining Perfect Auto Glass Part Four
In rare cases driving on gravel or dirt will be unavoidable. Some whole regions have these roads as their main roads and these places will be bad for your auto glass whichever way you go. So what do you do to avoid needing auto glass repair?
The first thing to do is to make sure to drive slower. When you drive fast this of course is more likely to throw those small stones up and into your own windshield, so driving slower will make sure that you are driving over them and not through them. Meanwhile you should drive with a good distance behind the car in front. This way you will avoid getting stones and debris thrown up in your car windshield which would cause you to need windshield repair. If you are close behind then you are going to get the majority of the stones they kick up which fly behind.
Keeping your distance from the car in front this way is good advice in general. Even when you aren’t on gravel roads, things can still fly up from the tarmac and if you pull back those things will be less likely to hit you.
