How To Replace Car Glass
Auto glass replacement can be done by any novice if he or she takes some time and follow some basic instructions. You need not have any special knowledge to do so, nor do you need expensive tools to replace your car’s glass. However, since you are not expert, you must have some patience. Replacement of a broken windshield is a three-stage procedure – remove the old glass, fix a new one and then seal it up.
Firstly, you need to remove any molding that goes around the window. There are various ways your molding is attached to window. The factory information that comes along with it helps you remove it conveniently. In some cases, you need to cut the broken glass. This requires some specific instruments. Once the old glass is removed, you have to remove the entire old adhesive from the car’s body. Once it is done, you have to clean the surfaces properly using quality cleaner that are specified by the instructions.
Once this is done, apply the new adhesive and use the suction cup handles to install the new glass into the position. After fixing a new glass, do not disturb your vehicles for several hours. Do not slam the doors or drive on any excessively rough roads for several days until the adhesive has had time to fully bond with both surfaces.
