How to Clean Water Spots from Auto Glass

Hard water leaves a few ugly spots on auto glass that regular glass cleaners will not remove. Hard water leaves behind a hard chunk of calcium, lime and iron. If you are using a harsh cleaner on your auto glass you run the risk ruining your paint job or even ruining your auto glass. There are numerous professional hard water stain removers that are safe to use on auto glass. After removing the water spots from your auto glass, treat the glass to prevent future build-up of unwanted stuff.

You will need a two microfiber cloths Ammonia-free glass cleaner such as a cotton applicator pad and a cleaning solution. Spray on your windshield with an ammonia-free and alcohol-free glass cleaner that is meant to remove hard water spots. Take your microfiber cloth and wipe up and down the windshield. Grab second microfiber cloth and wipe left to right.

Spray the cleaning solution on a cotton applicator pad. Wipe your windshield in a circular motion covering the entire front windshield. Allow to dry for fifteen minutes. Spray down your windshield with water and pat dry with a damp towel. Wipe your entire windshield one more time with a dry towel to ensure the solution is completely removed.
